  • This session, organised in cooperation with CompositesNL, focusses on new perspective for composite technology as Key Enabiling Technology in the area of sustainability and energy transition. The session will adress this role in two parts. First the presentation of the book "Designing Lightness for Sustainability", which is the story of many innovations and company developments of the last 25 years as experienced in Europe and The Netherlands in particular. The book will be presented by the authors professor Adriaan Beukers and Ed Van Hinte. The second part adresses specific applications and applied composite technology of the future in the perspective of providing answers to the questions of energy transition ans the quest for sustainable and circular solutions. Bussiness cases will have to go hand in hand with the contribution to diminishing CO2 emissions. The new mission driven policy of the Netherlands govermment will be addressed as well as 3 examples of innovations in infrastructure, automotive and wind energy.
