Group Leader, Structure & Optimization, Dept. Simulation
Fascinated by motorcycle motorsport and lightweight design, David Marschall joined KTM Technologies, located in Salzburg, in 2012 after completing his Master of Science in Sports Equipment Technology at the UAS Technikum Vienna. Additionally, he acquired a Joint Master’s Degree in Material Science at the Technical University of Munich and the University of Salzburg. He worked for five years at KTM Technologies as a calculation engineer in composite design for on-road and off-road racing motorcycle components, automotive, sports equipment and industrial structures. Since 2018 he leads the simulation group “Structure and Optimization” focusing on the optimization of hybrid, lightweight, high-performance components, combining composite materials with additively manufactured structures. Additionally, he will finish his PhD 2020 at the Institute of Lightweight Design at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz. He is investigating a multiscale design approach for additively manufactured lightweight, lattice-based sandwich structures.
