Kees van IJselmuijden is a senior structural engineer at Royal Haskoning DHV, with more than 25 years experience in design of bridges. Original in concrete and steel and since 2008 also involved in Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) bridges. Based on his initiative a Dutch guideline for FRP bearing structures is developed published in 2017 and in 2019 also an English version will be published. He is also involved in the Eurocode FRP. The last 3 years the focus of Kees is on digital engineering and Design for manufacturing and assembly. With the history and experience of Kees, RHDHV is exploring the possibility to scale the 3D printing from small part to a real bridge structure, starting with pedestrian bridges. Kees always worked together with other companies with the same ambition. He believes that every company has his own knowledge and if we combine these knowledge we can make it bigger and the development and implementation will go faster. In this project Kees worked closely with DSM and CEAD.
